I remember when we were driving on Saryab road , the Sardar or Chief of the area kept pointing to different points on the road , each and every position he pointed too was the place where either a bomb had gone off , a security vechile was attacked , a army man was found murdered or a target killing had occurred, hence the name killer road.
The only time i got afraid was when two biker stopped at a distance from where i was working and started keeping an eye on me , I was so afraid that I stopped my work and went to the office enclosure , I didn't tell anybody then , that wasn't wise thing i did , should have alerted them so our team could also have prepared themselves , maybe it was just my imagination , but it was the only time the road scared me
On our way back , the local driver who was telling us that it wasn't safe to stay after the sun set , kept telling us how much risk we had taken.
I went to the killer road, quite couple of times again for work and loved the place , there were food stalls on both side of the road , most of the road was single and carried a two way traffic. We got a little stuck while traveling on the killer road but it never harmed us.
